Out of the box it’s already set up so you can just turn it on and jump into your favorite game but there is also a lot of room for customizability and improvements on this little handheld.

If you’re anything like me then first moments with a new toy like this are always bittersweet. On one hand, I am eager to start using it but also I want to make sure I read everything and and have a huge FOMO when it comes to customizations and optimizations. Now, there are already a bunch of great tutorials online23 so I’m not going to repeat already well-known recipes. Instead, I’m going to document a few, rarely mentioned quirks that would’ve saved me some precious minutes when I first got my hands on this device.

We got model fusion at home

In this chunk I’m going to document a little OpenCode1 setup that uses multiple (well, two in this case but your plan is your limit) LLMs to review a GitHub pull request.

It’s a simple exercise in fusing multiple different models to perform a task and can be customized for any given LLM that you have access to and used for any task that benefits from this kind of multi-llm analysis.

The cost of being "nice"

The other day, a link popped up on Hacker News reviving this old Reddit post1 in which
u/flipstables
shares a pretty long and honest list of things they learned as a senior engineer. I highly suggest going through it as most of the things there are pure gold. But one, seemingly mundane, item inspired me to write this chunk:

Be kind to everyone. Not because it’ll help your career (it will), but because being kind is rewarding by itself.

How Rick Rubin taught me to be a better engineer

I’ve been reading The Creative Act: A Way of Being1 by Rick Rubin, legendary music producer2. It’s a pretty philosophical read on creativity in general, and I can recommend reading it regardless if you are an artist or not. Among many quote-worthy ideas, one passage struck a particular note for me and made me consider how I work with people.

The section is titled Listening and in it, the author writes:

Mizzurna Falls

One dull November evening, while mindlessly scrolling trough my youtube feed, I bumped into a seemingly random video1 about old PlayStation 1 games. This was my unexpected introduction to Mizzurna Falls.

Now, I’m a sucker for two things in visual art: snowy scenery and Twin Peaks so just seeing the game’s cover art was enough to draw my attention to it. But regardless of your visual preferences, I feel like there is a lot of universal beauty to be found in this obscure gem. So let’s dig in.

About the author

Personal info

I am Milorad Filipović, a father and a husband, currently levitating between my three homes: Croatia, Serbia and Germany, with Berlin as our home base.

Mic check

They say literature is a third age activity. Bukowski and many more1 published their first works around their fifties.
While this blog is by no means a work of literature, I decided to walk the path of these greats and start my very first personal blog at 37.

This probably is not going to be a tech blog. While writing code occupies most of my week and certainly I have some thoughts about engineering that I would like to share with the world, my primary idea for this website is to be an outlet for all kinds of ideas that come to my mind day to day. I have no set plans or any specific list of topics that I would like to cover here so the goal is to just write as much as possible and see where it takes me. So I guess for a while it will be an exercise in finding my own writing voice, so bear with me. Also, I have no fixed schedule for publishing new posts but, if my reading pace can be taken as a reference for my writing, the posts here will probably be very infrequent.
